This kit is designed exclusively for Arcade1up pinball machines.

It is crucial to understand that the kit Team Encoder sells is an add-on/attachment. It is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝟭𝟬𝟬% 𝗮 𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽-𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 because there are other components you must purchase separately to make it work. We do not sell this extra equipment.

𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲:

• 𝗢𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗣𝗶 𝟱 𝗠𝗮𝘅: You must purchase this board yourself. It cannot be the Pro, the Plus, or a Raspberry Pi. It MUST be the Orange Pi 5 Max.

• 𝗟𝗩𝗗𝗦 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿: If you have a stock monitor, you will also need an LVDS adapter to connect HDMI to the Orange Pi 5.

𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Unfortunately since the announcement of this kit, the prices for the Orange Pi 5 Max whether it be due to tariff, RAM demands, or market volatility has went way up. When we started they were $119-$127 now the average on amazon is $250~ they can be had on AliExpress for cheaper but once you factor in pricing + tarrif/import costs and shipping you’ll still pay around $200~

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗳𝘁𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲: 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗢𝗦

We ship an SD card with our kit running a copy of what we refer to as PinnerOS. It is a customized android build for the sole purpose of operating within an Arcade1up pinball cabinet, and includes tons of features, settings, options, and enhancements all intended for making the experience as user friendly as possible.

𝗪𝗶𝗙𝗶 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆

WiFi connectivity is included out of the box. You can use a smart phone, tablet, or laptop to connect to the WiFi network of the cabinet to begin connecting your system to the internet. This allows for system management, automatic updates/bug fixes as we develop them, and even submitting high scores to the online leaderboard.

𝗪𝗲𝗯 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

PinnerOS has a web management interface that is easily reached by scanning a QR code on the screen via your smart phone. Once at the web management interface you will be able to manage various settings including but not limited to what applications are displayed on the home screen, 2k and 4k super sampling, anti-aliasing, nudge deadzones, and linking your cabinet to the online Leaderboard system.

𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝟭𝘂𝗽 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗰𝗸 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝘀

You can install the original stock pinball applications (given you own the rights to the tables) via the click of a button. You lose no functionality. The DMD, solenoids, and plunger all work exactly like the stock system, but with enhanced 1080p graphics (or additional anti-aliasing/2k/4k if enabled).

𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹

The web management interface allows you to add Williams Pinball tables you own from the Android version of Williams Pinball. If you own them on Android, you can add them to PinnerOS with functioning DMD, Solenoids, and Plunger.

NOTE: Indiana Jones, and LCD tables (Dr Dude, FunHouse, etc.) are not supported via this method all other tables should work fine.

𝗭𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹

We have made Zen Pinball’s original library from android available again. Unlike Pinner v3.9, you do not need a PC, wires, or Bluestacks. You simply sign-in to your google account on the cabinet and download the tables you own.

This now works much closer to the Arcade1up stock software allowing for full and complete support of all the native functionality solenoids, plungers, and DMD. No more DMD on the screen at all!

𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲

The Pièce de résistance of the entire modification. This has been a work for passion and extreme effort sleepless nights testing, and frustration.

• 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗮 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲𝘀: The camera angles are now static and have been adjusted to achieve a VPX style POV, giving an extra sense of depth as you look down on it rather than looking completely flat.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹𝘀 & 𝗗𝗠𝗗: Unlike v3.9, we now have complete solenoid support, plunger support, nudging, and DMD with no mirroring of the screen. It is 100% integrated in a way that closely replicates the Stock Arcade1up Pinball experience.

• 𝗧𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀: Once you enable Pinball Arcade through the web interface you will have access to the entire library of tables, including discontinued Williams tables and more modern tables, all with full hardware support meaning DMD, solenoids, plunger you name it there’s about 100~ tables here alone.

𝗢𝗻𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀

Our leaderboards are actually already LIVE at https://pinball.team-encoder.com You can configure custom initials and usernames per cabinet. If you don’t want specific scores submitted (kids/friends/etc), just don’t enter their initials into the management interface simple as that!

Initials are completely unique to a cabinet, so you and another person can both use “AAA” as the initials and set two separate usernames for them.

If you do want your friends/kids/spouses scores submitted you can also just assign initials to them and a username as well.

𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀

• 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀: Basic support for the original backglass code is included. A community member is currently working on an overhaul for leaderboard integration and event driven displays with video support, and more.

• 𝗩𝗣𝗫 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗲: We plan to explore VPX Standalone support. This will be for the more advanced technical users only. We will not distribute tables/ROMs, but we aim to handle the installation and ensure stock controls (DMD, plunger, solenoids) function correctly.

𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀

𝗣𝗿𝗲-𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝟬𝟭/𝟭𝟳/𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗼𝘄: I plan to open pre-orders for exactly 2 weeks. I will not be fulfilling purchases during that time only accepting the pre-orders. Once the pre-order window closes I will begin ordering the HATs from china which are made to order I will not be holding inventory on this and there’s a chance I will not do future batches of these.

𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: During that 2 week window no orders will be prepared or shipped, the actual ‘clock’ starts for that once pre-orders are closed.

1. It will take up to 7-14 days to receive anything from the factory.

2. Each HAT needs to be inspected for quality, SD cards flashed, gyros soldered, and boards tested.

3. It will take up to 3-4 weeks after pre-orders close before orders begin to ship.
