Wonderland Amusements: Custom TMNT Art or Copy-Paste? 🧐

Mutants in Manhattan or World of TMNT?
Hey everyone, I just noticed something very interesting regarding the new World of TMNT machine from Wonderland Amusements.
They’ve been marketing this cabinet as featuring “Custom Artwork” by a comic book artist.
However, take a look at these two photos. On the left is the side of the pinball machine; on the right is the cover for the 2016 video game TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan.
As you can see, the poses, the shading, and the composition are identical. This isn’t just a similar style it’s a direct from a game cover that’s been around for nearly a decade.
For a product being sold on the premise of original design for the arcade community, this raises some major questions:
Is this truly “custom” work for this machine?
Why is a previous retail game cover being marketed as new original art?
I’m all for transparency in the hobby, and I think it’s important we know exactly what we’re paying for. I’ll be diving deeper into this soon.
